Badusha / Balushahi – The Royal Crumble
The majority consider Badusha (Balushahi in north India) as the sweet of the royals and it is not surprising that this has been a top crowd-favorite from our store. The reputation is so huge that Badusha rules as a traditional dessert all over the Indian subcontinent.
It looks similar to a soft glazed doughnut (but of course with the hole filled in!). The texture is layered and has a subtle crunchy taste with a beautiful mild rose/cardamom flavor. Drools!
It is made of All-purpose flour (Maida), Curd & Ghee, fried in refined Oil & dunked in Sugar syrup. With just the right amount of sugar for our sweet tooth, it is not an exaggeration to say that it subdues the sudden hunger pangs! And for the same reason, Badusha can also be relished as a light evening snack whenever the stomach bell rings without prior announcement.
‘Cometh the hour, cometh the champion’ they say and our Badusha really rises to the occasion like a true Badshah (Emperor)!
